Updated: Added useful links document.
All regular service leavers will receive a service leavers’ pack from the Termination Cell, SPVA(G), 9 months prior to their termination date. The pack offers guidance and advice prior to and after leaving regular service. If you are eligible for a pack and have not yet received one, you can submit a request through the

The pack contains information about armed forces pensions, resettlement, reserve liability and support from charitable organisations. Personnel leaving on redundancy should also read the document ‘Addendum to the service leavers’ guide for those leaving the service under redundancy terms’.
Of particular importance to service leavers is the SPVA pension form 1 which should be completed at the 6 month point prior to your last day of service using the Pen Form 1 link on your JPA account. If you do not have access to JPA you should compete and return the hardcopy form, no later than 6 months before your last day of service. The completion of the form is a legal requirement and failure to do so will result in a delay of the receipt of any terminal benefits and pension that you are entitled to.
If you have any suggestions as to how the contents of the pack could be improved, please use the feedback form.
