Updated: Latest Housing Benefit (HB) flows data national statistics published for the period November 2008 to May 2013.

Housing Benefit (HB) national statistics published on 14 August 2013 update previously published national statistics and relate to the period November 2008 to May 2013.

The statistics detail the number of people beginning and ending HB claims. They also include a breakdown by local authority.

Council Tax Benefit (CTB) was abolished in April 2013 and replaced by a system of localised support, therefore CTB statistics have now ceased. In England, the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) is now responsible for statistics. The Scottish and Welsh governments have similar responsibility. The full set of CTB on and off flow statistics are published in the ‘Experimental Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit flows data for November 2008 to February 2013’ tables, available above
