Updated: Link added to the the 'life opportunities survey: wave 2, part 1' results on the ONS website.

The life opportunities survey (LOS) is a large-scale longitudinal survey of disability in Great Britain. It is the first major social survey to explore disability in terms of the social barriers to participation that people in Great Britain experience. The survey was carried out for the Office for Disability Issues, part of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), by the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

This interim technical report describes how wave 2 of the LOS was carried out, and how data from respondents interviewed in the first years of wave 1 and wave 2 were linked for the purpose of longitudinal analysis. The fieldwork for the first year of wave one was conducted between June 2009 and March 2010. Respondents were then interviewed for wave 2 a year after their wave 1 interview, between June 2010 and March 2011.

Read the full findings from the life opportunities survey: wave 2, part 1 on the ONS website.
