Promotional material: European Schools recruitment

The Department for Education invites applications from qualified teachers with a minimum of 4 years teaching experience for the following positions at the European School Munich, commencing 1 September 2014:

  • primary teacher (ages 6 to 11)

  • secondary teacher of chemistry (ages 11 to 18) - teaching qualification and/or experience in biology would be desirable

  • secondary teacher of mathematics (ages 11 to 18) - teaching qualifications and/or experience in other subjects such as ICT and/or the sciences would be desirable

  • secondary teacher of english first language ages (11 to 18) - teaching qualifications and/or experience in other subjects such as history and/or English second language would be desirable

  • secondary teacher of economics (ages 15 to 18) - teaching qualifications and/or experience in other subjects such as maths, the sciences or English second language would be desirable

The 5 positions in Munich are the only ones the DfE will be advertising in 2014, although the other 13 European Schools might recruit teachers directly for employment on local terms and conditions. Completed application forms must be received by email or at the Department for Education address, below, by midday on Thursday 27 February 2014. Late applications will not be considered. Candidates shortlisted for interview will be contacted by email or telephone by Friday 14 March. Applicants who have not been contacted by this time should assume they have not been shortlisted for interview. Feedback will not be provided to unsuccessful applicants.

Interviews for all posts will be held at the Department for Education, Sanctuary Buildings, Great Smith Street, London SW1P 3BT

  • between 24 and 27 March 2014 for secondary positions
  • on 28 March 2014 for the primary position
