Guidance: Timelines for schools to convert to academies

Schools open as an academy on the first day of the month. In order to open on the chosen month, all the necessary paperwork associated with the conversion must be completed in the previous month.

This document sets out the important dates for schools planning to convert.

The tables indicate the final dates for documents and other information to be sent to the Department for Education (DfE) project lead and the Education Funding Agency (EFA) to ensure they can open on the first of the intended month.
