These maps show the 2011 Rural-Urban Classification for Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) Areas based on Census Output Areas. LEP areas consist of groups of local authority areas, and in some instances neighbouring LEPs will overlap. The maps show the full extent of LEPs, including the areas within which they overlap. More information on individual LEPs is available via the LEP Network.
The Rural-Urban classification can be used to simply distinguish between urban (settlements above 10,000 population) and rural areas, or can provide more detail on the types of settlement, including rural town, rural village, rural hamlets and isolated dwellings.
N.B. The Solent map will be added at a later date.
