Updated: Updated text in 'Conditions and requirements' to reflect new reporting process in connection with the transparency initiative.
This revised open general export licence (OGEL) allows, subject to certain conditions, the export of specified dual-use (has a civilian and military application) items.
The [international non-proliferation and arms control regimes]/government/admin/detailed-guides/16510) (in which the UK actively participates along with other countries) have agreed to remove controls on items specifically listed on the licence.
This OGEL is therefore intended as a temporary measure placing the specified items under a less restricted form of licensing until such time as the Regulation and the associated UK Strategic Export Control Lists are updated.
This revised OGEL came into force on 6 January 2014. All previous licences are revoked.
You will need to state the exact name of the licence or the SPIRE reference on any supporting documentation given to HMRC.
