Updated: Updated text in 'Conditions and requirements' to reflect new reporting process in connection with the transparency initiative.

This revised open general export licence (OGEL) allows, subject to certain conditions, the export of dual-use items (has both a civilian and military application) that had been previously imported into the UK, or any other EU member state and returned to the original country for repair or replacement under warranty, provided they are to be returned to the UK after such repair/replacement.

The exporter must have an established presence in the UK. The goods can also be exported if they are being returned as unwanted goods.

This revised OGEL came into force on 6 January 2014. All previous licences are now revoked.

You will need to state the exact name of the licence or the SPIRE reference on any supporting documentation given to HMRC.
