The report forms the basis of work to minimise our emissions during our first year of operation.
Our new focus means that there are now additional areas of sustainable development activity besides the management of our emissions and reduction of our carbon footprint. Thus, there are 3 main strands of sustainable development in PHE:
- the way in which we ourselves behave as an organisation, and our own impact on the environment
- our work on climate change and extreme events (including the National Adaptation Programme)
- our work on helping people to lead sustainable and healthy lives
